New Line Cagefighting: Return To Harts Creek

It would be easy to overlook Harts Creek as you drive through West Virginia, it’s a small town consisting of a post office, a couple of gas stations, and a dollar store. The one thing that stands out is the old high school, now the Harts Community Center. Even though it’s a small community, the roots in Harts Creek run deep, and the people there have a fierce pride for the place that they call home. They know each other, and they look out for each other. Things have not been easy for the people of Harts at times, and they have a fighting spirit because of it.

Nestled in Lincoln County, this small town has become the unlikely home of some of the best mixed martial arts, boxing, and kickboxing that the state of West Virginia has to offer. A little over a year ago, New Line Cagefighting first came to Harts Creek, bringing combat sports to a community that had always been overlooked, and it couldn’t have been more of a hit. The people of Harts turned out in force to see some of the most talented fighters in West Virginia go to battle, in an incredible night of fights, headlined by Harts native son, Jereme Browning.

New Line Cagefighting is set to return to Harts Creek on December 3rd, which will mark the promotions third event in Lincoln County. In a year that has brought some absolutely incredible fights, promoter Keith Noe plans to end it with a bang, in one of the most stacked fight cards that West Virginia has ever seen, it showcases 4 incredible title fights. In the main event of the night fan favorite and reigning champion, Densel Chapman will make his highly anticipated return to action against Eric Monn, who’s unlikely rise through the ranks has been an incredible underdog story.

A new king will be crowned at light heavyweight in one of the most anticipated fights of the night as Rob Myernick takes on the exciting Armone Belmon, who burst onto the scene last month with a blistering first round knockout of Austin Runyon, and declared himself the uncrowned king of the division. This didn’t sit well with Myernick, who has had his eye on that belt for sometime, and he’s been tearing through each new test put in front of him. This is a fight with two very hungry challengers, only one belt to be had, and no small share of bad blood between them.

But boxing isn’t all this card has to offer as we will also see a professional MMA title change hands as well as two surging prospects from Canada and Alaska will meet in Harts Creek to lay claim to the middleweight championship. Tom “The Greek Warrior” Theocaris is fighting out of Ontario, Canada and carries a professional record of 6-4 into this bout and his opponent Deven “Simba” Paulsen fights out of Alaska and walks in with a record of 4-5.

Harts Creek is also set to host a colossal matchup of professional heavyweight boxers from Ohio as Dajuan Calloway of Cleveland returns to West Virginia, his last journey here ended with a devastating and jaw dropping knockout of Khalil Smoot. Here he will face journeyman Antwaun Tubbs of Cincinnati, who looks to use his experience to find a way to stop the meteoric rise of Calloway.

This fight card will be full of familiar faces to those who follow NLC, with a number of their biggest veterans stepping back into the cage. Zackary Craddock will look to regain his title against a seasoned newcomer in Jimmie Adams, after an incredible performance in Huntington where he earned a first round knockout and showed that he is still a force to be reckoned with at lightweight. Ethan Blackburn will face Delano Reynolds in a highly anticipated rematch with tons of bad blood between both men. And in one of the most surprising and unique matchups of the night, two professional heavyweight boxers will be facing off in a grappling match, as “The Heathen King” Thoran Hensley takes on “Billy Badass” William Myers. With over 20 fights, a mix of MMA, boxing, kickboxing, and grappling, this event has something to offer just about everyone.

New Line Cagefighting is set to bring one of the most exciting events in recent memory back to it’s unlikely home in Harts. On December 3rd fighters from across the nation will arrive in Harts Creek, to this small town where everybody knows your name, to make a name of their own.
